Contact lens packaging is tricky — especially those little pods with plastic on the bottom and foil on top. In the UK, most recycling systems struggle with mixed materials stuck together. So here’s the fix: separate the foil from the plastic before you bin them. If your kerbside recycling won’t take them, check with your optician — many now offer specialist recycling bins for contact lens waste.
