"If I ever want to go to events I always have to check the seating. I can't sit in regular stadium seating or conference room seating. These chairs all hurt my back and cause me to be more disabled as they exacerbate my pain and disability. There are never alternatives offered so I can't go to any of these places. A simple option of a high back, softly and lightly padded lightweight supportive chair would be easy to store and add to the disabled area, in place of a wheelchair for example. Not all of us are wheelchair users with our own seats. I am excluded from pretty much all events and concerts because of the seating that actually causes me harm."
- Provide seating options for people who use wheelchairs, buggies or with restricted mobility at seated events i.e. end of row.
- Make sure there are also low height options if you are using poseur tables and encourage your exhibitors to do the same.
- Provide child-size chairs and sofas for family events.
- High chairs for catering areas - Organisers should check levels relevant to their show audience.
- Provide more seating and not just in catering areas.
- Allocate priority seating for those whose need is greater than yourself.
